HomeLife & SciencesSample Preparation

For filtration and routine enumeration, USP <788> or ISO 8871 you can use any standard filter such as cellulose nitrate 25 mm or 47 mm filter patches and similar type of membranes. To identify particles as small as 1 µm without sample preparation with image led spectroscopy we suggest the use of the fitr.AID membranes.

Ideal for particle analysis

The filtr.AID membrane is the ideal substrate for microparticle analysis and identification. Particles can be isolated from most liquids and gases using standardized membrane filtration. The active area, the area on which the particles are separated, is accurately defined by the filtr.AID funnel.

rap.ID's darkfield illumination technique produces excellent contrast between the particles and the background in the microscope image.

rap.ID's Particle Explorer in combination with filtr.AID technology performs qualified sample preparation in a matter of minutes.

filtr.AID advantages

Cleanroom manufactured Low blanks and certificate

Extremely high sensitivity with dark field illumination (no colour)

Perfect raman.ID or FT-IR for particles > 1 µm

Sample Preparation standard filter membranes

Sample holder for standard circular filter membranes for particulate

Contamination analysis, such as Ø 47 or Ø 25 mm : Cellulose Nitrate or MCE (mixed cellulose ester), Nylon Membrane and Net Filters, PP Prefilters and Net Filters and many more

Easy to use filter patch holder

4 x sample changer for Ø 25 mm

Particles are glued to the surface

Standard Patch advantages

Relatively cheap

Perfect particle archive solution: Glued particles don`t fly away and less possibility of cross contamination

Brightfield images with full colour information (white background)

Best for metal.ID (Particles > 10 µm)

Suitable for raman.ID (Particles > 25 µm and no thinner than 20 µm)
