Component Cleanliness Analysis

SPE-i metal.ID

The SPE-i metal.ID is able to count and sort particles, determine chemical composition of metals, minerals and pigments, determine elements, recognize 100 alloys and much more. This particular tool can identify the elemental distibution at a throughput rate of 300 - 3000 particles per hour. metal.ID can be configured to meet the strictest of quality standards whether it be ISO regulations or product–specific parameters.

An image guided metal.ID spectra (LIBS) library is available for metallic elements and several alloy materials.

Application

Control of the technical cleanliness of components

Control of hydraulic fluids and galvanic baths / cleaning baths

Material analysis - section analysis and chemical identification of inclusions

“You cannot control that which you do not measure.” In order to extend component life expectancy, optimize in-plant processes, lower replacement costs, decrease maintanance, avoid downtime and adhere to ISO regulations it is crtical to find the most accurate, repeatable, and cost effective solution to measure particles down to the micrometer. The solution is automated microscope analysis. Former methods of analysis require trained professionals and many hours in the labor but now with the SPE-i metal.ID it is as easy as a touch of a button and takes only minutes.

Designed for routine applications

Simple material identification with automatic documentation. All results are secured transparent and comprehensible.

SPE-i metal.ID - identification of metallic particles with a speed of 3000 particles per hour.

Report designer - customizable reports with individual layout and print options for standard report generation.

Sample changer - Ø 47 mm filter patch holder with sample changer for 2 patches.

Image analysis -> number, size and shape

By illumination of the particles, fully automatic image analysis and LIBS spectroscopy provides the Single Particle Explorer (SPE-i metal.ID):

Number, size:
Feret's diameter (longest dimension)

Shape: length/ width, angularity, fibrousness, area

Chemical composition: Chemical elements

Fully automatic particle identification

The system automatically detects and reliable all organic, inorganic and metallic particles without special expertise.

metal.ID
- gives spectra of the chemical elements. metal.ID is Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy, LIBS. It is sensitive, ultra fast (1 s / Particle) and virtually free of sample preparation. It gives spectra of the several elements e.g.: Al, Au, Ag, Ba, Ca, Cr, Cu, Co, Fe, Li, Mn, Mg, Ni, Pb, Sn, Sr, Si, Sb, Ti, V, Zr, Zn as well as of hundreds of mixtures and alloys.
